COFAIR International Coffee Industry Expo has been taken place from May 29 to 31, 2026 at Hongdao International Convention and Exhibition Center, showcasing the full spectrum of the global coffee value chain from origin bean to roasting to package to cup.

Last week, I visited COFAIR Qingdao.
No booth, no sales pitch – just me, a notebook, and a lot of coffee people talking about the same headache: freshness loss.
If you've never been to COFAIR, imagine a place where roasters, packers, and equipment suppliers from all over worldwild squeeze into one hall. Everyone shows their best beans, flashy bags, and new brewing gadgets. But this year, I noticed something different.
Behind the beautiful packaging, almost everyone I spoke with quietly admitted:
“Our coffee still tastes flat after two weeks on the shelf.”
And that's exactly where our work comes in.
The quiet hero of fresh coffee: one-way degassing valve
You probably know this already – fresh roasted coffee releases CO₂. If you seal it tight, the bag balloons or bursts. If you leave it open, oxygen gets in and kills the flavor.
The solution? A one way coffee degassing valve.
It lets CO₂ out. Keeps oxygen out. Simple in theory, but in practice… many brands still struggle.
At COFAIR, I saw several 'premium' coffee bags with cheap stick-on valves that had already lost adhesion. Some valves were misaligned. One brand even used a valve that didn’t close properly – you could smell the coffee from three meters away (which smells nice, but means the coffee is dying fast).
That's not freshness. That's slow spoilage.
Here's the part that surprised me at COFAIR:
Even medium-sized roasters are starting to ask for valve applicator machines – not just the valves themselves.
Why? Because heat-sealing a coffee valve properly is harder than it looks.
You need the right temperature, pressure, and timing. Too cool – the valve falls off. Too hot – you melt the bag or damage the valve's one-way membrane.
One roaster told me: “My staff changes every few months. Training someone to hand-seal valves with a cheap handheld tool – it's impossible to keep quality the same.”
Another said: “I tried three different valve suppliers. Each one needed a different heat-sealing setup. My old manual process couldn't handle it.”
That's exactly why we offer two practical solutions:
Both are designed specifically for heat-sealing one-way degassing valves onto coffee bags – no cold adhesive, no peel-off failures, no rework.
COFAIR Qingdao confirmed something I've suspected for a while:
The coffee industry is splitting into two groups.
Guess which group grows faster?
We don't just sell one way coffee degassing valves.
We help you choose the right semi-automatic or automatic valve applicator machine based on your bag type, production volume, and valve specification.
And yes – both machines are built to handle the heat-sealing process reliably. No glue. No mess. No training headaches.
If you visited COFAIR and felt confused about valve application, or if you're tired of customer complaints about 'stale coffee after two weeks' – let's talk.
No fair booth needed. Just a coffee and a quick video call.
At the end of day two, I sat down with a small-batch roaster from Yunnan. He doesn't export yet. But he told me:
“If I ever sell overseas, the first thing I'll fix is the valve application process. Shipping kills freshness faster than anything.”
He's right.
And the fix isn't complicated – it's just a good one way coffee degassing valve + a semi-automatic or automatic valve applicator machine that heat-seals it properly.
Not exciting. Not flashy. But it keeps coffee alive.
And that's worth writing about.
